Stephanie understands what it’s like to practice law and run a business—getting her start at a big law firm before co-founding her own firm and then moving into coaching firms on building healthy businesses. She is a nationally-known speaker on a variety of business topics, co-hosts The Lawyerist Podcast, and co-authored the best-selling book, The Small Firm Roadmap Revisited.

What is the format?

This event will be very interactive and lots of fun! We’re assembling a great team to teach you the skills that often are missed by other conferences and CLEs—skills such as delegating effectively, providing feedback, and coaching team members. Because of the nature of our work together, expect this to be a hands-on experience giving participants a chance to practice the skills they are learning.

I’m an introvert. What can I expect?

Our team is known for creating introvert-first events. This means we have very thoughtfully planned our time together with introverts in mind. You’ll find special touches throughout our time together that allow you to enjoy the experience and recharge as needed.  

Is this event only for attorneys?

No. The skills that we will tackle at this event apply to everyone on the team. When applicable, we’ll have break outs for attorneys and administrative team members to focus on job-specific issues. 

Can people in current leadership roles attend?

Absolutely! We recognize that so many of us were thrown into leadership roles without much training or support. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is currently managing a team to hone their skills and look for ways to improve.  

What are the dates and logistics?
We’ll start around 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 19 and wrap up at 5:00 on Friday, September 20.  

The event is being held at the Q Center in St. Charles, IL, about 40 minutes from O’Hare.  
What does the registration fee cover?

Your registration fee covers your conference attendance, materials, activities (we always have some fun surprises), some SWAG to take home, your meals starting with lunch Thursday, and your hotel accommodations for Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Q Center.   

What if I don’t need a hotel room for Thursday?

We appreciate you letting us know. Based on our contract with the Q Center, your accommodation is included, so we can’t offer different prices for those not taking advantage of the hotel room. Plus, this event doesn’t end at 5:00 but will have opportunities to connect during and after dinner Thursday night. To get the full experience, we highly recommend you stay with us at the Q Center! 

What if I have dietary restrictions or other requests?

Prior to the event, we will send a form requesting these details. Also, the Q Center does an amazing job handling dietary restrictions.
